in the summer of 2016 hove went to france for two weeks to start writing and recording his new ep portes du soleil. together with his girlfriend they spent two weeks at le pascalet, a house in the woods of the cevennes, right outside the small village of st. etienne vallee franc&#807,,,aise. equipped with a sampler, a drum-machine,some synths, effect pedals and a mic for feld- recordings, he built the foundation of the 4 songs that would later become the ep portes du soleil. all the songs started out as live-jams. the goal was to create different moods and patterns inspired by the surroundings of the forest, long walks, playing petanque and plenty of pastis. the tracks were later fnalized back home at hoves studio in zurich. musically portes du soleil feels like the natural follow up to his debut ep journey to arendal. hoves tracks are wavering between sozzled grooves and warm, woozy atmospheres. field- recordings from their daily routine in and around the house were either used to enrich the ambiance, or as in calme infni, they were transformed into a whole song. even though portes du soleil was written during the summer, the record is not bound to any season it is simply an excerpt of hoves life in 2016.

since their inception in 2013, east london duo payfone have been breathing warm-blooded soul into their unique machine-fuelled groove. drawing the dots between the white isle and nu yorica - by way of london s narcotic nightlife - the pair conjure a rhythmic throb and soulful devotion all of their own. together, phil passera and chieka ononye buzz along the fault lines of classic r&b, cosmic disco and acid house, injecting their sound with 21st century syncopation. adhering to a strict no samples rule, their manifesto demands that everything be 100 percent original. it s a formula that s worked well so far: the pair have been widely tipped across the blogosphere and are currently linked to celebrated us imprint golf channel recordings. following three sold-out releases for the label, they return with another pair of discreet bangers, justified and we are chains. the tracks turn up the heat on their previous releases, again offering the vocals of performance powerhouse louis howard jones whose lyrics spark with a political punch.

originally founded by kisk back in 2009 apparel music set out to offer something truly singular in focusing their musical output predominately on jazz whilst venturing into its integration across the landscape of electronic music at the time.with a zealous release schedule, they racked up a healthy collection of eps between 2010-2015 from artists such as delano smith, scsi-9, sarp yilmaz and the label owner himself amongst many others. now after a year-long hiatus, the label makes a return with a slick 4-track va that fans both old and new will relish. strictly limited to a pressing of 200 on 180 grams of wax, their re-launch brings with it a jazz-suffused 4-track record featuring voyeur, ivano tetelepta & eugeÌne latumeten, kisk and kerem akdag. voyeurs swinging for theo kicks things off with organic, brushed drums and a walking bass line set off to a tight, swaying rhythm. glassy rhodes keys bleed into the mix ahead of piano stabs and 909 hats that propel progress when combined with a thickened low-end. ivano tetelepta & eugeine latumeten follow up with je suis reconnaissant a bass-heavy groove that lays soulful vocal samples over filtered piano chords and loose-limbed hat patterns. kisks just u then drives a crackly drum loop through distant, flexing synth tones. arresting vocal samples then take the foreground in a rich, smokey mix before istanbuls kerem akdags closes up the package. akin to the styles of producers such as henry wu and max graef, akdags friend melds playful drum patterns with thick chord stabs and smooth vocal lines that wrap up a stellar return for apparel music.

s-audio is the result of a long standing collaboration between the two dj s and producers from barcelona sbri and audio-in. they currently share most of their time by co-working in their studio, moved by the common passion for house, acid techno, electro, breaks and experimental. now delivering their first release on their own label s-audio recordings.
